About

Events by Zinda NYC is a collective that celebrates Middle Eastern & South Asian craft, culture and art through immersive events.

We recently held our first event and are thrilled to share that we raised over $5,500 in donations for Falasteen! This amount comes from donations via eventbrite, giveaway tickets, donated items from vendors sold for no profit and at least 20% proceeds from each vendor. Donations went directly to artisans living in 🍉 and the Human Appeal Gaza Relief Fund.

We hosted 15 vendors and are proud to say that all of them were local minority-owned businesses from which the majority were women-owned. There were a variety of vendors providing henna services, selling perfumes, scented candles, jewelry and much more. We had a food bazaar including delicious chai, cupcakes from the famous Layers bakeshop, creative desserts and refreshing boba teas. There was also a special performance by Al-Baydar Dabke — a traditional Falasteeni dance, which ended with the guests joining in, holding hands, and taking the streets of Brooklyn in an event to remember!

We want to continue this initiative with more events to come with the purpose of raising funds for Falasteen while also supporting small businesses by partnering with charities and collaborating with local vendors.
